Celebration of Eid ul Adha

newOn 13 September 2016 Muslim community of Bangladesh celebrated the Eid ul Adha with due religious fervor across the country. Like rest of the country children of AMCC also spent the day with happiness and pleasure. This year community people donated a cow to the children in order to sacrifice it for the satisfaction of the Almighty Allah on the very day of Eidul Adha in commemoration of the sacrifice made by Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (A). After Eidul Adha prayer the cow was sacrificed. Children amusedly took part in the removing the cow hide from body and cutting of meat in small pieces. Kurbani reminded the children of their past when they enjoyed the day with parents and collect meats from door to door. Children were very happy to sacrifice a cow of their own. On this day especial diet was served for the kids with beef and other sweet dishes. Children passed the Eid day with huge amusement and enthusiasm.

AMCC Presentation on Knowledge Management Forum
DSC03216Program Manager M. Jahangir Hossain of AMCC delivered a lively, flexible and interesting presentation on the topic “ Current Activities of AMCC and Future Plan` in the monthly Knowledge Management Forum (KMF) session which was held on 1st September 2016 at DAM conference room on fourth floor. The regular session was presided over by TMD Director Kazi Mohammad Abu Hasem. In the presentation Program Manager displayed 23 slides containing thematic discussions. Two videos were also shown to the audience about various activities of children city. In his brief but lively presentation child policy, total number of street children in the country, definition of street children by UNICEF, declaration of the Prime Minister about street children, specific goals of AMCC, challenges and future plan of AMCC were included. There was huge audience to attend the presentation. Beyond DAM there were participants representing different organizations such as PARI and others. In the question and answer session CEO, CINED Shahnewaz Khan was present to answer various questions and queries from the large audience about female children village, inclusion of physically challenged children in the program, vocational trainings etc. There was profound interest in the audience about diverse interventions of AMCC. After the Q&A session was over the session was formally closed with a vote of thanks to and from the chair.

Observation of National Mourning Day
DSC02988Like rest of the country AMCC observed national mourning day in befitting manner. The greatest Bangalee of one thousand year and the founding father of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman`s 41st death anniversary was observed in profound respect and love. As part of a range of activities early in the morning at 6 o clock the national flag was hoisted and kept half-mast. Children took part in the district level rally and discussion at zila council auditorium. Amidst other functions display of 7th March historical speech of Bangabandhu followed by discussion and MiladMahfil were held. In the discussion session PM-AMCC described the history of tragic killing of Bangabandhu along with his family members on 15 August 1975. Kids listened to discussants pathetically and with full of emotion. All the children once again vowed to become an ideal citizen of the country.

Visits of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) to AMCC

pathashishuAdditional Deputy Commissioner of Panchagarh district MdMahmudulAlam made a visit to AMCC on 2nd August 2016. He visited different classes and residential rooms including dining hall and was informed of other facilities. He exchanged views with AMCC management and expressed his satisfaction about the overall situation of AMCC and the progress of students. ADC assured to provide all sorts of technical supports from DC office for the development of children. PM- AMCC expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to ADC for the visit of AMCC amid tight schedule.

Nafisa hands over new Eid dresses to DAM president for AMCC kids
DSC02988Nafisa Akter Gunjon a final year student of Architecture department of Asia Pacific University donated 164 sets of new Eid dresses for the children of AMCC- Panchagarh. The dress set includes T-shirt and 3-quarter pant. In an informal ceremony Nafisa hands over the sets of new dresses to DAM President Kazi Rafiqul Alam on 22nd June 2016. AMCC Program Manager M. Jahangir Hossain, PS to President Jibon Chakrabarty and Admin Fakruddin were present on the occasion. Nafisa`s father Md Abdul Gaffar Khan in his short speech said that DAM works more butarticulates little. Activity of DAM should be disseminated to the people of all walks of life to make sure people have a share in the development interventions undertaken by DAM. President welcomed the initiative of Nafisa to help the distressed and vulnerable children.
